WHY WE NEED BODYWORK

The body is an expression of who we are, and how we are in relationship to the world— it is a map of our choices and our level of integration.

Our bodies reflect our willingness to relax and show up, how we feel and whether we are expressing our truth and moving from a place of congruence.

BODYWORK SUPPORTS
 • Relief of muscular tension
 • Increased circulation
 • Deep relaxation
 • Tissue detoxification
 • Reduction in anxiety, depression, insomnia
 • Reduction of headaches
 • Recovery after injury

Bodywork increases awareness of the body/mind connection,
creating a sense of unity and integration, deepening
awareness of our selves

BODYWORK IS MOST EFFECTIVE
IN CONJUCTION WITH YOGA & PILATES

For most people, pain is caused by inadequate alignment due to repetitive strain, and a disconnection of the self on an energetic and emotional level. Movement work, including Yoga and Pilates, creates strength, stability and flexibility, leading to improved posture and proper bio-mechanics. These practices cultivate a mind-body connection and lead to improved posture, stress relief and self-awareness

Both bodywork and yoga support the release and re-direction of energy rather than internalizing and constraining it.

For most of us, doing less, but with more intelligence and proper biomechanics will organize these systems.

By balancing the nervous system through bodywork and neuromuscular re-patterning we can create a sense of grace and ease.

MY APPROACH TO BODYWORK

I have over 1000 hours in bodywork training including Zen Shiatsu Acupressure, Traditional Thai yoga massage, Swedish massage, Deep tissue, Neuromuscular therapy and Cranial-Sacral therapy.

Bodywork has been my foundational training, and has been influential in both my personal evolution and kinesthetic knowledge in the healing arts.

I have been practicing bodywork for over a decade, and have cultivated a background of therapeutic work in both private practice and in a physical therapist setting, specializing in high-risk pregnancy and physical injury.

The integration of bodywork with movement work (yoga and Pilates) is a holistic and effective approach to treating most common structural and energetic issues. I have seen and experienced amazing results with the combination of these practices.

I find the work of Rolfing and Aston Patterning, as well as Cranial-Sacral work, to be the most sophisticated forms of bodywork, and beautiful complements to rehab work. I often refer my clients to other amazing practitioners to support them on their healing journey.

The magic of bodywork comes from creating a safe environment where the body feels supported, witnessed and allowed. It is through this space that the body will unlock old patterns and the nervous system will support the body to regulate and find balance.

The way we create transformation is through the body; I use bodywork as a tool and adjunct to other modalities that support re-integration. I work with my intuition and listen to what you and your body is communicating to better support it. It is my intention to guide you in the processes of finding balance and deep connection, and in coming home to yourself.

with the same mind that created it.”
